More and more we hear about violence victim –child. Violence has been there always and always will be, nobody is capable to avoid it, but society can fight for less child abuse. Children are so unprotected; they can not make a stand against somebody. And if they can, hey can not do it completely, to protect their health and life. Almost every day we hear about continuant case when mother kills in anger her 3 year old kid or parents, to punish child, puts him in the boiling water or drunken father rough his child up. It is shocking, but nobody can really do anything because there will be families where nobody knows about them. Or sometimes society knows about it but doesn’t say or do anything, until it is too late already-child is disabled or dead.
Child Abuse is intentional acts that result in physical or emotional harm to children. It covers a wide range of behavior, from actual physical assault by parents or other adult caretakers to neglect of a child’s basic needs.
Although the extent of child abuse is difficult to measure, it is recognized as a major social problem. It occurs in all income, racial, religious, and ethnic groups and in urban and rural communities (Cultures around the world have different standards in deciding what constitutes child abuse. In Sweden, for example, the law prohibits any physical punishment of children, including spanking. By contrast, in some countries of Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean, parents are expected to punish their children by hitting them.) …
