Non-finite Forms of the Verb. The Infinitive, its use and Constructions
Non-finite form of the verb - A form of the verb that does not show a distinction in tense and cannot stand alone as the main verb in a sentence.
singly, i.e. without accompanying word;
e.g. I like singing.
in phrases, i.e. with accompanying words (objects, adverbial modifiers);
e.g. Listening to music is my favorite pastime.
in predicative constructions.
