In order to understand what how an organisation is functioning we have to concentrate on a broader perspective and we have to analyse the people that are actually building blocks of the organisations. Hence the study of organisational behaviour means studying the structure, the functioning, the performance and the behaviour of people in an organisation. In today's world we interact with organisations that exist for accomplishing a specific and well-defined goal through the behaviour of their members. As "organisations are social arrangements for the controlled performance of collective goals" the managers' job includes achieving organisational objectives within an ever changing environment, balancing efficiency, effectiveness and equity, obtaining the maximum possible from limited resources available while working with and through people.
Development of organisations and definitions
The major breakthrough after the arising modern business enterprise that took place around the 2nd half of the 19th century management and ownership has separated between 1895-1905. Consequently theories of thoughts and further questions needed development and answers. Throughout the modern business evolution information has been placed as a core issue whether directly or indirectly affecting the management of an organisation as well as the management of people. …
