Yet one cannot help but ask oneself 'Is non violence really better than application of force?' Afterall , we have the example of numerous many countries that have snatched away the freedom from the jaws of slavery. We even have the example of the tiny island Taiwan which has refused to surrender its sovereignty and is prepared to fight tooth and nail to protect its freedom.
Who is more successful the helpless monk that has the shield of his own conscience or the eternal warrior who is ready to fight to death?
The answers are elusive.
Who is inside and who is outside depends on how one is looking at oneself and at the white line?
