Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus "The Praise of Folly"
I chose to analyse “The Praise of Folly” by Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus because I had the chance to read some of its fragments in secondary school and I wanted to see how his delicate irony combines with intelligent sarcasm throughout his book. I was surprised by the fact how he manages to embrace whole spectrum of groups of society, not being afraid of stating consistently harsh phrases about monarchs and pontiffs, which happened to have undoubted authority in that time society.…
