This is probably the question that Heaven's Gate is most relevant to. The "Phantom" Promised Land is "The Level above Human" And they achieve it by all of the information found above.
8. What are the dangers, if any, you see in joining this cult?
The biggest dangers are separating your self from all things worldly. In many cases people have sold all property and given away babies in order to detach themselves from the lower level human world. In order to be less sexual some members have cut off their genitalia. And in most cases you ultimately must be killed for the ultimate separation from your human form.
