What Factors Led to the Rise and Decline in Stained Glass Art Popularity?

Conclusion
As paradoxical as it may seem, it has now been shown that the same factors that influenced the rise to popularity of the stained glass windows also caused its downfall. Included in these factors were aesthetics, education, architecture, religion, social class, and politics. Perhaps it can be said that it was not the factors alone which effected the change in popularity, but the time period in general which changed those factors beforehand. Perhaps, as times change these factors again, another golden age of stained glass will be on the horizon.
