7.2 Success and structure
The structure of George Adams is a tall structure, which also uses centralized power. This therefore means that they have a large chain of command and a thin span of control. It also means that the factories have to follow strict guidelines the head office sets. This way of running the company is good as each factory knows exactly what they are doing and they know what they must tell the subordinates to do. This also means that the company is very efficient and they have a high level of work produced. This is one of the reasons why the company is such a success as it is very organized and it is very assertive. This strictness and assertiveness therefore means that the workforce is also very hard working and they realize what they need to do to keep up with the standards of the company. This has also helped the company stick with their objectives, there objectives are as follows: As this a Private Limited company the main objective is to make as much profit as possible using the least amount of capital as possible, for things such as costs for raw materials, staff pay etc. This company also has the objective to try and be the best in their market. Their stated objective is as follows:
" Our main objective is to provide the country with the highest quality pies and sausages". We are also proud to say that one of our main objective is to make individual home-made style pies just like we have since the company started".
7.3 Success and Culture and Style
As I said earlier George Adams has a role culture as in the company, the role of each person is recognized by the color of their hair net and respect is given to these people, as they are the people with authority. There is also a task culture within George Adams as in this production company the employees have to produce a certain amount of the product before the week or month is over.
Using task culture has made the business a success as if this is done then the company can produce the amount of products which is necessary, this means that there is a lot less waste produced saving the company money. Also using this type of culture within the business enables each employee to know exactly what they need to do and what dates they need to be done by. This would help the productivity of the company, as the employees would be able to work at a faster rate if they know exactly what they need to do.
Using role culture has made the business a success as this way each and every employee knows exactly what they are in the process and what their position is within the company. This also enables the company to have a clear view of all the different sections of the organization.
The cultures and styles of the company have helped it keep their objectives. Their main objective is as follows:
"Our main objective is to provide the country with the highest quality pies and sausages". "We are also proud to say that one of our main objectives is to make individual home- made pies just like we have since the company started".
