“Employee resourcing is concerned with ensuring that the organization obtains and retains the people it needs and employs them productively. It is also about those aspects of employment practice that are concerned with welcoming people to the organization and if there is no alternative, releasing them.”
(Armstrong, M. 2001:352)
Importance of human resource planning.

“Having the right person, in the right place, at the right time, is crucial to organisational performance. Recruitment is a critical activity”. (CIPD, 2009)

“Recruitment is the process of generating a pool of capable people to apply to the organization for employment.”
“Selection is the process by which managers and others use specific instruments to choose from a pool of applicants the person or persons most likely to succeed in the job(s), given management goals and legal requirements.”
Gold, J. (2007:239)

“The recruitment process involves organisations in communicating with persons who might be realistic candidates for job vacancies.
The selection process is concerned with the evaluation of candidates and the development of systems, procedures and methods to ensure that sound selection decisions are made, to ensure that high-quality personnel are brought into organisations.” (Anderson, 1992:14)…
