Thailand was again named the “Most Popular Destination” and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) was honoured as the “Best Asian Tourism Board” by Go Asia, at the International Tourism Exchange Berlin on 9 March in 2012. This is the ninth year in a row that members of Go Asia have chosen Thailand as Asia's most popular destination. [6.]
Further political conflict withstanding, as the global economy moves into recovery Thailand's enduring appeal for tourists from around the globe has allowed the country to position itself as a major destination with a definite move towards providing more high-end, high-quality hospitality services.
In 2010 international tourist arrivals was 15,842 million and lenght of stay was 8,2 days. In Thailand travelers spending 96, 72 US$ per day, in general receipts from tourism was 19,760 million US$.
In 2010 Thai outbound travel reached 5,350,000, Average Thailand visitors length of stay are 6,6 days and into outbound travelers spending 103 US$ per day. The highest number of Thai outbound tourists is in East Asia followed by Europe, America, South Asia, and Oceania.
One of the world`s favorīte destination and 2011 is the best year for tourism on record.
Thailand's tourism industry makes up about 6.5 percent of the country's GDP. When seeing the number of tourists, and the number of tourist destinations and hotels, one would actually expect a more substantial portain of GDP.
Different kind of tourism – adventure tours, culture tours, eco-tourism and water sports, although wide range of attractions.
