Christmas trees. There are many stories about how the first Christmas tree was trimmed. One is that the famous German preacher, Martin Luther, started this custom. As he was walking home one starry Christmas Eve, he cut down a tree, took it home and trimmed it with candles. Much later, Germans brought the custom to this country.
