Commemorative plaques in celebration of the Romanian-Indian friendship and in honour of the two prominent national poets Mihai Eminescu and Rabindranath Tagore were unveiled in "Mihai Eminescu" Theatre in Botosani on September 14, 2000, and in "Iosif Vulcan" Memorial House in Oradea on October 13, 2000 by the Indian Ambassador and the Mayors of Botosani and Oradea respectively. A plaque celebrating the Indo-Romanian friendship was also unveiled by the Ambassador and the local Mayor on May 15, 2001 in Campulung town.
38. An Indian Photographic Exhibition titled "Glimpses of India" was held at the "Romanian Museum of Literature" in Bucharest from February 27 to March 3, 2002, which was jointly inaugurated by Ambassador Shri Jawahar Lal and Mr. Dan Jurcan State Secretary for Communication and Public Image within the Ministry of Public Information. The 140 coloured photographs displayed on the occasion gave the Romanian visitors a glimpse of India, as a blend of tradition and modernity, a cradle of civilisation and diversity, reflecting recent developments in the social, cultural, religious, political, scientific and educational fields, as well as sites of tourist interest.
