The unique and well-designed setting makes The Island of Lost Souls very unique. The jungle is also plays a very important role in the film, and the lighting and cinematography aids it. Lighting in the Jungle is very dark, making it a very mysterious setting. Also, high camera angles also give the impression of anxiety, because it is hard to see anything, and knowing the creatures are roaming in the jungle sets the perfect tone for the film. Dr. Moreau's house is the most interesting setting in the entire film. Moreau's entire house if filled with vines and trees, giving it a jungle theme. The house is surrounded by a fence also covered in vines and surrounded by trees. Everything in Moreau's house is covered with bars and gates, which makes his visitors nervous.
