What is money and what functions does it perform? (Cost/payment.Value.) Has it historically any changes from the ancient times?
Money is anything that people generally agree to use when buying or selling things. It works in three main ways: it helps us trade without needing to swap goods directly (like in bartering), it gives us a standard way to measure how much things are worth, and it lets us save value over time so we can plan.
The idea of money has changed a lot throughout history. A long time ago, people used things like animals, grain, or salt. Then they started using items that had value on their own, like shells, silver or gold. Eventually, coins made of metal appeared — like the ones from ancient Lydia around 600 BCE. After that came paper money (first of them was made in China), then banknotes, and later, digital forms like credit cards, online banking, and even cryptocurrencies.
