3.5Final thoughts
Even though business support is a good thing, it is in my opinion too late. Governments should invest in programmes such as "Young enterprise" (currently supported by private individuals, banks and other non governmental organisations - NGOs), and teach individuals how to run a company when they are still in school or at university.
Investing in present small companies is fair enough, but what about the future? Would it not be more effective and cheaper investing in programmes for students and bring about the idea of running their own firm, when the individuals are still young?
I can only state from my own experience that I really benefited from my dad introducing me into his company when I was 12. I might have been a bit young to understand what exactly was going on, but by now one of my future plans is to start up my own company.
