H. Pylori is a very dangerous infection. Even though over two-thirds of people have it, very few of them know that they do. It is very hard to detect as well because 50% of the time patients are asymptomatic. This is a very worrying factor since each year there are 500,000 to 850,000 new cases of peptic ulcer disease and there are more than one million ulcer-related hospitalizations, many of which are attributable to H. Pylori infection. Also 60-80% of gastric cancer may be attributable to H. Pylori infection. Overall people need to become more aware of this harmful bacterium, its main targets, tests for its diagnosis, treatments, and what other medical problems infection can lead to so that it can be found in time to prevent any further complications.…
