Children are taught early on to "Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody". The only thing they think of is if they physically hurt them. We have to apologize if we hurt them physically, mentally, or emotionally. Sometimes we have to apologize even if we didn't do anything wrong.
Fulghum also said "When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together". If I were to ask my niece what that meant, she'd say that's what we have to do when we take a walk. To me it means that when we leave the safety of our home, we need to be aware of the world around us, to "look both ways". Don't lose yourself to the current style or hype. Fight for what you believe in, don't be a follower, be a leader. …
