Black September and The 1972 Olympic Games
<Tab/>Seventeen dead, ten Israeli athletes and one Israeli wrestling referee murdered in cold blood and five Black September terrorists and one German police officer killed during a gun battle. Terrorism is "[the]...use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments..." (Dictionary.com/terrorism). Black September were a group of terrorists whom on September 5, 1972, at the Munich Olympic Games, took eleven Israeli hostages and began demanding the release of prisoners in both Israeli and German jails.
