Darba fragmentsAizvērt

As technology evolves, new options emerge changing the opportunity set. As a result, with the new opportunities we face new expressions of social norms. The brightest example to this is, probably, television and internet. Nothing more then broadcasting and information received through radio, newspaper, and web-sites dictates the norms and stimulates further change: standards of beauty, fashion, social roles and images.
Conclusion
The fact that social norms impose restrictions on human behavior can hardly be doubted. The question that remains unanswered after the research conducted is - will things ever be different? Will people ever be responsible for own decisions making own individual choices? Will society ever accept those who do not fall under the general category of standard followers of the established style of behavior? Obviously, there have been significant improvements even within the last decade; however, obtaining freedom from any social restrictions is impossible by the very definition, even if society would have been perfect, which it is not.
