Signs, Symbols, and the Artifacts can serve as explicit or implicit signals that convey information about the place to its users, which are particularly important in forming the first impression and for communicating new service concepts. ⑺
Signage: The signage that should be marked in the servicescape includes the label of the name of restaurant, indicators of entrance and exit and signs on rules of behaviors, such as no smoking. It mainly exerts an impact on promoting the social intersection between customers and employees.
Artifacts: The display of Chinese traditional handworks, such as Chinese ties, can promote the atmosphere of Chinese traditional culture in the service settings. These artifacts can convey the information about Chinese traditional culture to customers and employees. Moreover, they can enable customers or employees to categorize this Chinese restaurant mentally. Thus, under the influence of these handworks, more guests are attracted to our restaurant and be interested in exploring Chinese traditional culture.
