14.Conclusion
Accounting concepts serve as guideposts, but tend to emphasize the reliability of information rather than its usefulness. However, if all companies used the same accounting methods, it would also be useful. It would eliminate the problem of comparing two companies that are using different accounting methods. Even in the case of a certain company it is difficult to realize what accounting methods are in, therefore every company should provide notes to its balance sheet. The Volkswagen AG is a very good example for it. It has a very good web site, and a lot of information can be obtained from it. The simplified balance sheet of the company can also be examined. The company also provides notes to each point and detailed tables. If somebody wants to invest in that company, it can be well informed about the company. Of course, there are certain cases, which are unrecognisable in the balance sheet, but it is like that at every company.
