What I didn’t like about this book is that none of the characters seemed very real or made any impression on me. They felt a little two-dimensional and lacked any real authenticity. Despite of that, for the most part of the book, my attention was captured until the very end and even if I didn’t like any of the characters, I needed to see how it would finish. Overall, I suggest to read “The Winner Stands Alone” for those who would like to take a look into the worlds of fashion and cinema because the author tells us what is the price of success, fame, fortune and celebrity. The vast majority of society clings to the idea that if we just had a little more money, or were famous, or more beautiful, then everything would be all right. Not so, says Coelho and I believe this is an important message.…
