Conclusion
There are many factors that create diversity in the workplace. Diversity can be a positive trait of a company or can cause workplace dilemma, it can cause joy and grief. Diversity is a set of human qualities that are different from our own and outside the groups, to which we belong, yet are present in other individuals and groups (ht tp://www.questia.com/PM.qst?a=o&d=5000256363). In a business context, diversity is approached as a strategy for improving employee retention and increasing consumer confidence. The "business case for diversity", as it is often phrased, is that in a global and diverse marketplace, a company whose makeup mirrors the makeup of the marketplace it serves is better equipped to thrive in that marketplace than a company whose makeup is homogenous (http://www.free-definition.com/Diversity.html).
