1. Design and packaging of the product - the significance of the trade, environmental requirements, globalization and socio-demographic structures for packaging and design today
Today product design is not only for good looking and packaging is more than making good conditions for safe product transportation.
We live in a multidimensional world, where trends of product design and packaging covers each other or even collides, competing for our attention.
Significant factors, which create these trends, are globalization, trade, environmental requirements and socio-demographic structures.
Globalization
Now we are not only local consumers, but we are also a part from global market, we are much more affected by things, which happen globally.
Example - 11th September in USA. After this, car design became more protective, presenting more power, strong design (Hummer, Chrysler 300). Society seemed to be obsessed with the unknown and supernatural powers, so the design and packaging of products often was centred on heroes like Spiderman, Fantastic 4 etc. And these trends were seen not only in USA, but all over the world.
Trade
Every product needs specific level protection, when it comes to trade nowadays. The main task for product packaging - ensure safe flow of products.
