The only way to determine who ranks as a great president are to first define what actually makes a president 'great'. A great president leaves lasting impacts on the country that ultimately benefit the constituency. It also entails being assertive and standing by your policies and enforcing such policies. It necessitates the ability to handle stressful situations and come through in times of crisis and conflict. Great presidents not only have impacts on the nation, but also on the office itself. Early leaders sent precedents that future head of states would follow.
