Conclusion
Although official European cooperation day is September 21st, events related to this day is going on all September. In fact on the official day there is less events than prior or after the September 21st. That’s why all September is like a European cooperation month.
In Baltic States there are quite a lot events going on, especially in Latvia and Estonia. And in the big part of those events everyone can participate. But I found that information about these events is pretty week and doesn’t reach people timely and effective enough. People who know about these events found information in government web sites, or probably were informed by someone who fallows these kind of activities. But regular people - who in their everyday life search information in social media or in traditional media - learned about these events only when they had already happened. If in the next year media puts the European Cooperation day in their agenda, then, maybe, public’s participation will be bigger. In my opinion the events need to be more entertaining than just informative. Especially if the events are taking place during the weekend when people want to relax and enjoy themselves. EU cooperation programs which organizes these events needs to find a way how simultaneously entertain and inform people. Taking as example this year’s events – “Adventure trip” and short film festival “Be part of it”.
