George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950)
Irish playwright, art, lietarature, music and drama critic, political activist.
In his early career became a political activist, joining the Fabian society- a British socialist organisation, advancing democratic socialism.
Most of his work was influenced by his political, social and economic ideas (ex. Alphabet reform idea in “Pygmalion”).
In 1925 he became the only person to have ever been awarded both the Nobel Prize in Literature and an Oscar for his play “Saint Joan”.
