Emotions
Emotions are important aspects of human communications.
Positive emotions such as smiling and attachment ,as well as negative emotions such as fear, undergo extensive development from infancy to adulthood in terms of variety and complexity.
The functions of emotions
The primary functions of emotions is communication. Both the production and the recognition of emotions are important ways in which children learn to regulate their exchanges with others.

The production of emotions begins almost immediately upon birth and is, in part, genetically determined.
