Although animals are not as primitive as we might think and they do have a certain kind of intelligence, it is different from human intelligence, and the main difference is the lack of a highly developed abstract thinking.
Much research has been done on the subject of animal intelligence and the results are surprising, e.g. fish can count to four, chimpanzees can learn sign languages and some birds can plan their future meals, but the fish will never become mathematicians, the chimpanzees will never be linguists and the birds will never plan their country’s budget as humans might. It is also discovered that some animals may be bilingual – birds decipher certain vocalizations of squirrels. However, they cannot learn multiple languages like humans do, therefore animals share some skills and abilities with humans but are unable to develop them to human level.…
