Besides that, there were a few huge names that I didn't recognize, such a Clifford Brown, Ornette Coleman, and Sonny Rollins. I also liked watching the movies. This gave me the opportunity to get a visual of the artists while they were playing or conducting, which I then thought of whenever I heard one of there selections. I'm just a very nostalgic person, so learning anything about the past is interesting to me. I like to take note of the trends that were around back then; clothes, the hairstyles. For instance, many of the musicians back during the "Cool Jazz" period wore dark shades, which really gave you that "Cool" feeling. Even in movies today, when referencing something in jazz from the late 40's-early 50's years, they will have the character wearing dark shades.
