The three poems "Elergy Written In a Country Churchyard" by Thomas Gray, "Ozymandias" by P.B.Shelly and "The City of Orange Trees" by Dick Davis certainly contain a number of differences and similarities in the types of techniques used in getting their messages and themes across to the readers. The types of techniques used include imagery, diction, rhyme, form and literary devices as to further shape and emphasise the themes and messages in each poem.
