Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence in 1776. He wrote it so that all the people can realize their rights. The Declaration of independence was written to strongly emphasize the three rights that all men have. They are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It states that all men are created equal. But in 1776, that wasn't the case. Were these truly freedoms? Did the Declaration only speak to white men? Was there a reason as to why Thomas Jefferson wrote, "All men are created equal? (Declaration of Independence, 13 colonies 1776). Why then does it not apply to everyone? Among the hypocrisies were the mistreatment of Native Americans, enslavement of African Americans, and the disregard to women's rights.…
