Surrounded by water, Venice is unlike any other city where Sarah and John have ever been too. When they arrived at the airport they had to take "water taxi" just to get to the city. When you visit most cities, you usually get a map and from there you decide where you want to go. Not in Venice. In Venice, the city decides where it wants you to go.
Because Venice is made up of small streets and bridges which cross canals all over the city, there are only two ways of getting around. Which are walking or riding a boat. If you choose to walk, which Sarah and John mostly did, you are almost guaranteed to get lost. Maps are little help because almost all of the streets have no names. In fact, many of them are so small that they are not even on the map.
Sarah and John learned this the way when they arrived in Venice and couldn't find their hotel.…
