The First Amendment states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." The most important of the rights listed in the First Amendment is the right that gives everyone freedom of speech. It is so important because without it the individuality of every person would be stifled. It gives us the right to express the creativity and emotions that we all have.
