CONCLUSION
As we learn and advance our knowledge of ADHD our current understanding of the disorder provide accurate diagnosis and medical evaluations. To date no other health organization has supported the study and or research of ADHD than the NIMH. Children currently receive 14 months of treatment and an extended follow-up for 6 years. The combined use of medication management and intensive behavioral treatments were particularly advantageous for children with ADHD, even when these children had other disorders.
It cannot be overemphasized that every child with symptoms of ADHD receives careful and expert evaluations by trained medical professional that are multi-skilled in various mental and psychosocial disorders. Children suffering from ADHD who receive no treatment will be deprived of the opportunity to reach their optimal growth and maturation potential, hampering mental development that will last a lifetime. ADHD can successfully be treated.
