We can agree that we have to believe what we are told because there is no way to return to the past to find out the history as it really was. We can research to find more appropriate readings and to compare the different point of views of the authors and choose the one who seems to be more coherent. We have to place ourselves in the past. We have to imagine what the author intended to express, imagine their feelings, their fears, they motives to write, and we will be able to understand history better.…
