Darba fragmentsAizvērt

At the end of the wedding ceremony, as the newly wedded pair leave the church, the guests throw rice and flowers for fertility;
The couple will hold their right hands together during the ceremony to highlight their new life together;
They are lead by the priest in this first walk together as husband and wife– walk is a symbol of their commitment to stay with each other;
No vows are uttered by the couple.

The wedding party starts with the invited people waiting for the couple, who usually come after some time;
There are plenty of food, drinks, music and dance, usually until next morning;
Dancing is a major component of the celebration;
The Kalamatianos is a traditional dance;
The last dance of the night is reserved for the bride and groom to do together;
Each guest should leave with a small bag of Jordan almonds– for luck.
