The reading and teaching of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" written by Mark Twain is very controversial. Due to many African American Parents argue that the word nigger appears more than two hundred times making Huck Finn a racist book. Racism is discrimination or prejudice based on race. The parents feel that this racism distracts their children from concentration. The critics of this book know that is racism is a bad thing but that does not mean that it should be banned.
