Companies are also obliged to provide some of their profits to support social and environmental activities because since companies have long been gaining benefits from the society and the environment, it's now the time for them to return some of their benefits to the community. The responsibilities of companies in a community extend in a wide variety of directions from civil rights to support of community cultural activities. There are several rationalizations for the companies to support the social and environmental activities. There is a philosophy assumes that companies are citizens of the community as people are, except that they have greater resources than most citizens. Hence, as citizens, companies have duties to support philanthropy without regard to their self-interests. As the society's major economic institutions for productions, companies cannot ignore their responsibilities for the environment too. They are considered to have the responsibilities to reduce pollution to the extent that is socially and technically reasonable. Besides, companies also play the roles of agents and trustees for the community, receiving funds and distributing them according to the community needs. By supporting the social and environmental activities, companies' supports are frequently justifies as an investment that benefits their business in the long run by improving the community, its labour force, the climate of business, and the environment of business activities.
