Germany has a strong historical tradition of totalitarian control from dictators such as Hitler. From Bismarck and the establishment of the Reich to Hitler, Germany's climate craved a totalitarian and militarily arrogant leader. Prussian-German excellence in military matters was an accepted fact of life, but in the twentieth century the excessive accent on militarism led to two disastrous world wars and irreversible consequences on Germany socially, economically and militarily.
