Check that you have the address and phone number of the local Latvian Embassy or Consulate before you travel. Your hotel, tour operator or the local police will also have this information. Check you know the opening hours. Most Consulates have an out-of-hours answerphone that gives office hours and arrangements for handling emergencies at other times. Working hours usually follow the local pattern but it is best to phone first.
