There is major concern in the western world regarding the possible impending crisis between the United States of America and Iraq. The American position, presented by President George W. Bush and his cabinet, has been at the forefront of the world media. Different countries have
taken a stand which is either for or against any kind of military action to be taken by the United States against Iraq.
American Foreign Policy On Iraq
The American position is that they are, "determined to disarm Iraq, and thereby bring peace to the world.." After the Persian Gulf War in 1991, the United Nations and Iraq came to an agreement that Iraq would, "destroy and stop developing all weapons of mass destruction and long range missiles." The Americans believe that rather than complying with this resolution,
Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has continued to create weapons of mass destruction.
