What people have forgotten nowadays is that we are part of nature and that we have arisen together with all the other living things. We need to accept that our dynamic earth in its diversity is something that humans can never subordinate and understand completely. In our own arrogance we have thought that we can change nature so that it would be suitable for the royal master – human.
People don’t think what consequences they can cause with their actions in nature, and that is why sometimes the actions that people take sound completely mad. For instance, a lover of Shakespeare’s works, Eugene Scheiffer, decided that he wanted to introduce in the United States all the bird species that are mentioned in Shakespeare’s plays. In 1890 he deliberately released eighty starlings in Central Park in New York City and another forty in 1891. …
