Short plot
This novel is about three backpackers who travel from Thailand to a secret island. There is a beach, so beautiful and untouched, they believe must be paradise on earth. But there’s a comunity living on this island and it’s not that easy to fit in this group of people. Eventually, the three newcomers realize that this beach isn’t a paradise at all.

Richard - a young British traveller and the main narrator of the novel.
Étienne and Françoise - both French; two young lovers who become friends with Richard during their trip.
