Current research into neurological identification and adaptation methods suggest adults might benefit from intervention methods that are atypically applied to Sensorimotor and Preoperational disabled children. Although difficult, the examination of synaptic changes during learning was conducted on invertebrate systems by Sliva, Elgersma, and Cost (2000). They observed support for short and long term changes in synaptic functioning of learning. Zorrilla, Jeste, Paulu, and Brown (2001) investigated brain response to novel picture encoding and found abnormal encoding brain responses of the non-verbal learning related neurology, (hippocampus, parahippocampal and fusiform gyri).
How the individual progresses through the lifespan, adapting to their cultural and social environments was investigated by examining the adaptation process of non-verbal learning disabled via Piaget cognitive development theory. …
