The opening battle of "Saving Private Ryan," is very accurate. Many historians believe that the opening scene is the closest anyone can get to actual World War 2 combat. For those who fought on the beach of Normandy, this film comes closer than any other to what those men went through in 1944. Other than the Germans, the movie leaves out every country except the Americans. "Saving Private Ryan," shows only the Americans landing on D-Day, and secludes every other allied country.
