The theme of the text is the history of the language of Ireland. It reflects the tough times of the Irish nation, when it was impossible to stand for their language, yet the language of Ireland escaped from the chains of its enemies and remained till nowadays.
The text is non-fiction and apparently it is taken from a text-book dealing with the history of making languages in the United Kingdom.
The aim of the text is clearly educational and at the same time entertaining. The author wants us to see how significant the Irish accent to English is. …
