In the field of classical music, France has produced a number of legendary composers, like Gabriel Faure, while modern pop music has seen the rise of popular French hip hop, French rock, techno and funk.
Popular sports played in France include football, judo and tennis. France has hosted events such as the 1938and 1998 FIFA World Cups, and hosted the 2007 Rugby Union World Cup.
