Having only a vague conception about the idea of the above mentioned headline I consulted in the first place my dictionaries. This was my fault. My English-Latvian dictionary gave eleven meanings of the word “character”, the big English-Russian even more. With a dispersion of meaning between “temper” and “secret symbols”. A simple mathematical calculation showed that dealing with all of these meanings would be a too time-consuming enterprise. So I decided to be satisfied with one.
But which of them?
