Lastly, grades create unhealthy competition between students. Because marks are not a precise image of student’s intelligence, students may think less of themselves if they are not doing well in school. I have often thought I did great on a test until I find out others did better. Everyone has their own pace of learning and progressing, and comparison by scores can make anyone feel unworthy.
